Nintendo is looking for 10,000 testers for a new Switch Online feature
Nintendo has announced a search for 10,000 testers to preview a yet-to-be-revealed Switch Online feature. Details about the feature remain shrouded in mystery, as the company has not provided any specific information in its call for participants. However, only users with an active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership are eligible to join this “Playtest Program.”
The $50-per-year Switch Online Expansion Pack offers additional perks, including access to Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis, and Game Boy Advance games, along with downloadable content for popular games like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and Splatoon 2.
To qualify, testers must be at least 18 years old and have a Nintendo account registered in one of the following countries: Japan, the US, the UK, France, Germany, Italy, or Spain. Subscribers interested in applying can do so by scrolling to the bottom of Nintendo’s announcement and clicking the “To Application Page” link.
Applications are open from today, October 10, at 8 AM PT/11 AM ET, until November 5 at 4:59 PM PT/7:59 PM ET. In Japan, Nintendo will select participants through a raffle if the number of applicants exceeds the limit. For everyone else, spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis,
and applications may close early if the maximum number of participants is reached quickly.
